Mumbai Meri Jaan
What struck me prominently was the simplicity and attention to detail…
10/10 for casting! How often we see Irrfan,KayKay and Paresh rawal together….
Madhavan is a bonus! Soha getting better and better after RDB!
Special mention to the support cast. They are perfect! Vijay Maurya as Sunil Kadam is complete natural and very effective!
One can see bit of himself in every character! For me its not the movie as a product but the way they made this one made the difference!
Only -ve : Sometimes it tends to get like an documentry….But dats just one and most movies of this genre are bound to have shades.. hence no complaints!
Mr.Nishikant Kamat. Take a bow!

Top 10 Most Worst Movies Of 2008 | Best Movie Of 2008 | Hot Movie
Labels:
English Movie,
Movie

1.The Love Guru : The New York Post writes : films like The Love Guru and 2003's The Cat in the Hat are destroying all the comedy credibility Myers built through the Wayne's World movies and Austin Powers films. The film also stars acting legends Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake .
2. The Hottie and the Nottie : Rotten Tomatoes says only 5 per cent of critics gave the film positive reviews, based on 55 posts. It was a major box office disaster.
3. Mad Money : The comedy-crime film starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes finished third in the New York Post's Top 10 Worst Movies of 2008 .
4. What Happens In Vegas : The New York Post says: "The easy joke is that this bomb should have stayed in Vegas. We took the easy way out." It performed well at the box office, but was a critical failure.
5. 10,000 B.C : Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a mere 9 per cent on it's Tomatometer. The site says: "With attention strictly paid to style instead of substance, or historical accuracy, 10,000 B.C. is a visually impressive but narratively flimsy epic".
6. Babylon A.D. : Rotten Tomatoes writes: "A poorly constructed, derivative sci-fi stinker with a weak script and poor action sequences". It came in at No.6 on the New York Post's worst movie list.
7. You Don't Mess With The Zohan : This Adam Sandler comedy polled at No.7 in the worst movie list. Rotten Tomatoes' consensus: "(the film) features intermittent laughs, and will please Sandler diehards, but after awhile the leaky premise wears thin".
8. Rambo : In at No.8 on the list, Rotten Tomatoes writes: "Sylvester Stallone knows how to stage action sequences, but the movie's uneven pacing and excessive violence (even for the franchise) is more nauseating than entertaining."
9. Witless Protection : Witless Protection ... The New York Post handed this the No.9 spot, while Rotten Tomatoes gave it a big fat zero. It writes: "Larry the Cable Guy continues his critical losing streak with this insipid, tasteless caper comedy".
10. Beverly Hills Chihuahua : Beverly Hills Chihuahua ... did OK, but scraped into the top 10 worst list because, as Rotten Tomatoes writes, it was "little more than disposable family entertainment".

In advance of its debut in theaters in front of Watchmen, Warner Brothers has released the third incredible trailer for Terminator Salvation. Do yourself a favor and watch this right away, because I'm pretty sure you're going to be blown away. McG's latest trailer takes a cue from Zack Snyder's first Watchmen trailer and features a Nine Inch Nails track that definitely sets the mood like nothing else. Watching this makes me forget that McG is even directing this and makes me believe that we may actually see an awesome Terminator movie. DETECTIVE NAANI Bollywood Movie Review
Labels:

DETECTIVE NAANI Bollywood Movie Review DETECTIVE NAANI is tedious and interesting, both. Tedious, because what could’ve been narrated in 1.30 hours is narrated in 2.15 hours. More on that later! Interesting, because the mystery element and how it eventually gets solved keeps your eyes wide open. Sure, you might call the goings-on childish, but, hey, don’t forget the golden mantra. Final words? Strictly for kids! The girl hides away quickly. Naani’s intrigue about the little girl leads her to a possible murder. Naani finds herself in the middle of a mystery where some people will come to her aid, some will be indifferent and some will prove to be dangerous. When the CID officer [Ankur Nayyar] dismisses Naani’s story due to lack of hard evidence, she transforms into a detective. Naani uses her home-spun common sense and logic and carries out her investigation in classic whodunit style. Come to think of it, the concept of DETECTIVE NAANI is indeed different. You’ve a septuagenarian trying to solve a case in her own, simple, uncomplicated way. But the problem is not the naani, but the sundry characters that are inter-connected to the main plot. Ideally, Romilla should’ve concentrated on the naani solely, instead of the romantic track [a big yawn], who break into silly songs that would make even those suffering from insomnia doze off. Also, the kids – the grand-kids of the naani - hardly make the proceedings lively. These portions should’ve been eliminated on the script level itself. It would’ve saved money and raw stock, besides keeping the running time in check. Having said that, it’s true that DETECTIVE NAANI holds your attention towards the latter reels. The penultimate moments are watchable and you don’t really grumble as the film reaches its finale. Romilla Mukherjee’s direction is better than her writing. Musically, nothing to hum about. Ideally, it should’ve been a songless film. Ava Mukherjee, the naani, lends credibility to her character. She makes the most implausible situation look plausible. Ankur Nayyar, the cop, is an extremely competent actor. A small-screen talent that needs to be picked up by big-screen producers. The remaining actors either pass muster or fail to register an impact. On the whole, DETECTIVE NAANI is too ordinary a fare to stand on its feet. At best, it might appeal to a small section of moviegoers [kids]. That’s about it! Source : BollywoodHungamaDETECTIVE NAANI Bollywood Movie Review
Note this: You need to turn into a kiddie while watching a kiddie film. So follow this mantra when you set out to watch a naani solve a mystery, a la Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, in DETECTIVE NAANI, directed by first-timer Romilla Mukherjee.Write your own movie review of Detective Naani It’s a regular day at Gulmohar Complex. Spunky, independent, 75-year-old Naani [Ava Mukherjee] is on her way back home from her daily morning walk. Suddenly, her eye catches the face of a little girl peeping nervously from a 3rd floor window. The flat belongs to a childless couple.
Also, from the writing point of view, the villain and his wife do nothing beyond giving cold stares to the naani, even though they know that she’s after their case.

Megan Fox: Worth the Hype?
She’s raven-haired, tattooed, and drop-dead gorgeous. If that makes Megan Fox the next Angelina Jolie, then go ahead and say so. Those of us less prone to lazy comparisons, however, can say that the starlet is a force all her own — one who is not afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind. An example? While promoting her latest flick, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the 23-year-old Tennessee native had red state conservatives up in arms over a little piece of political commentary. When asked how she would stop Megatron from demolishing the world, she said, “I’d make a deal with him — instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super Bible-beating people in Middle America?” Who said bluntness isn’t a virtue?
See photos of Megan Fox.
Then there’s the matter of her physical appearance. In the age of Photoshop and airbrushing, it is safe to say that Fox is a Hollywood rarity: a bombshell that oozes sex appeal so naturally, she couldn’t turn it off if she wanted to. And why would she? She is the first to admit, “If I weren’t attractive I wouldn’t be working at all.” With only one major film to her credit (although Transformers 2 will likely be her second) it begs the question: Is her fame warranted or is Megan Fox just another pretty face that will vanish faster than she can say ‘more botox, please!’?
CAREER
No surprise here — Fox began her career as a model, a gig that she quickly parlayed into an acting career. “I always knew what I wanted to do, which was be an actress,” she said. Her first professional acting appearance came quickly, as she starred alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in Holiday in the Sun, one of too many straight to DVD tween Olsen films. While it was a far cry from cinematic gold, her next job found her on the big screen, co-starring opposite Lindsay Lohan in 2004’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.
Taking a break from film, Fox tried her hand at television, landing guest-starring roles on such shows as What I Like About You and Two and a Half Men before finding a recurring role from 2004 to 2006 on the short-lived sitcom, Hope & Faith. While Fox refers to the show as “really bad,” she was still nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2005.Her return to the big screen came in 2007 as Mikaela Banes, the lead female role and love interest to Shia LaBeouf in the Michael Bay-directed summer blockbuster Transformers. Her performance not only left tongues wagging, but put Fox on the map in what is widely regarded as her breakout role.
In the years following her Transformers success, Fox’s career teetered; she appeared in a minor role in the box office failure How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. With Transformers 2, Fox has returned to her original launching point and doesn’t seem to be taking the future for granted. This time around, she is tackling bigger roles, including the title character in the upcoming film Jennifer’s Body, written by Juno-penning Academy Award winner Diablo Cody. Also on her agenda: the role of a gun-wielding beauty and love interest to Josh Brolin in Jonah Hex and a starring role in the comic book-based Fathom, which she is set to help develop and co-produce.
PERSONAL LIFE
When Fox met 90210 alum Brian Austin Green on the set of Hope & Faith in 2004, it was love at first sight. “I was like, oh my God, I have to be with you,” she said. The only problem? Fox was 12 years his junior. “I had to convince him that I was slightly more responsible and well-spoken and had other things to bring to the table.” Four years of dating and a marriage proposal later, it is safe to say that Megan’s mission was accomplished. The seemingly levelheaded actress made the classic ‘girl in love’ mistake, however, when she tattooed “Brian” on her lower hip — a bad omen in any relationship. As such, the pair never married. In early June 2009, Fox ended speculation of the on-again, off-again status of her relationship with Green, making the announcement heard ’round the world by lusting males. “I’m currently what you would call single I guess.” Enter the inevitable hook-up rumors. On the top of that list was Twilight star Robert Pattinson. “I just randomly asked someone for a light and it was him. That was the extent of our ‘relationship,’” she said. Even if R-Patz would have pursued her, she has news for him and other similar young Hollywood heartthrob types. “He and Zac [Efron] — they’re just too pretty with the big hair and the suits. And Rob is, what, 22? Zac is 21? That’s a joke. Boys in their twenties are a waste of time. They have nothing to offer conversationally; they’re immature. I feel like I have a better shot with someone in his thirties.” Sorry, boys.
Fox has also made no secret of the fact that her love knows no boundaries. “I have no question in my mind about being bisexual,” she admitted. “I’m also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who was bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I’d never want to sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.”
FINAL VERDICT
In a world of ‘no comments’ and half-hearted denials, Fox’s no-nonsense, tell it like it is demeanor is a breath of fresh air against the cookie cutter celebrity trend of rehearsed rhetoric. While many chalk her frank commentary up to ‘foot-in-mouth’ syndrome, I believe Fox knows exactly who she is and what she is saying and is perfectly OK with it. While she has not earned the iconic status of Marilyn Monroe, whose face is prominently tattooed on her forearm, Fox is one of, if not the, hottest young stars in Hollywood right now. And let us not forget that, in her day, even Marilyn was judged primarily by her sexy exterior.
Fox’s career is still in its early stages, and at 23 years old she has plenty of time to leap into super-stardom. With more leading roles on the horizon as well as plans to produce one of her upcoming films, she is showing no signs of slowing down, and I think the best is yet to come for the young starlet. In the meantime, she works hard for her money and keeps us all entertained, wondering what she will say next. For that, I say she is — pardon the pun — way more than just a fox.

Dostana Movie Review
By god, it’ll be a long time before we can purge our eyes and ears of this horrific nonsense masquerading as a movie.
Chuck & Larry vs Sam & Kunal
We’ve watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which notwithstanding the ugly reviews, we pronounce entertaining and a hilarious riot.
But Dostana is ugly from the getgo.
You build a story carefully, one scene at a time as they do in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
Two longtime Brooklyn firemen and buddies (Adam Sandler and Kevin James) pretend to be gay because the widower James is confronted with the bureaucratic hassle of naming a beneficiary on his pension form.
But in Dostana two almost strangers Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan plays a male nurse) and Kunal (John Abraham is a photographer) living in Miami suddenly decide to put on the gay act because a lady won’t rent an apartment to two guys because her niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra) is living in the third room.
Such is the garbage heaped on you in Dostana, dear friend. Nothing makes sense in Dostana even in a weird way.
The home inspection scene that was handled so beautifully in I Now pronounce You Chuck and Larry becomes repellingly clownish at the hands of Tarun Mansukhani. Horror of horrors, the immigration inspector is even dancing along with these two clowns (you know who).
Ah, the injustices of life. After watching that vision Jessica Biel in I Now pronounce You Chuck and Larry, we have to endure this whacko Priyanka Chopra in Dostana.
When you reach the denouement of the kissing scene in I Now pronounce You Chuck and Larry, it was at the end of an entertaining journey. In Dostana, the Abhishek-John kissing moment comes at the end of a tedious ordeal.
If you think the first half of Dostana is bad, the latter half gets nauseatingly awful as John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan engage in one silly prank after another to separate Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra.
And the author of this most grotesque story and inept screenplay is none other than mis-director Tarun Mansukhani himself.
Bad-Ass Acting
When Abhishek Bachchan spins a yarn on how he first met his gay partner John Abraham in Venice, we wished the earth would open up and swallow this Bollywood freak.
Mon Dieu, this Abhishek Bachchan guy is a bad actor. Did we say, hideously bad. Yes.
In several crucial scenes, this duffer looks like he’s got all the brains sucked out of his head. Like when his mother (Kirron Kher) lands up in Miami after accidentally learning her son is gay or when he’s trying to tell Priyanka Chopra of his love for her in the clothes store. Flat performance. Just like his biwi.
As for John Abraham, the fella is good only for those briefs ads…you know where they show only the bottom half of the torso with a bulging crotch.
John Abraham makes Abhishek Bachchan look like a combination of Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson and Robert Redford. Even in a supposed-to-be-funny scene like when Kirron Kher does the aarti for him, this John Abraham mass of flesh can’t emote. Sad.
Like that old hag Shilpa Shetty (who appears here briefly in brief clothes), Priyanka Chopra looks bad enough when clothed. Putting a bikini or other skimpy attire on this nature’s mistake is torture for viewers.
With the front of her shimmering sari tucked between her boobies, a backless blouse exposing her back, the sari tucked way below her navel and dancing like a trollop, Priyanka Chopra looked cheaper than the cheapest slut and uglier than the ugliest tramp in the Desi Girl song.
Kirron Kher overacts like she’s desperate to receive her fat paycheck and vanish from the scene while Boman Irani’s role was poorly fleshed out.
Nice Moments
Truth be said, there were a few scenes that had us in splits - when Kirron Kher gives her bangles to John Abraham and talks to him about the importance of observing Karva Chauth. Or when Abhishek talks about Gabbar Singh of Sholay fame being gay.
Dostana’s music is not bad but their hellishly bad picturization make it seem like the devil’s own tunes were assaulting our ears.
In a long life, fate has dealt us many surprises - some good and a few not so good - but seldom has as cruel a joke as Dostana been played on us.
Jump off a cliff, take a knife and cut yourself in a thousand places, get a sex change…do anything but watch this infernal nightmare called Dostana.
You’ll find it impossible to survive the ghastly ordeal.

Hum Phirr Milein Na Milein Review
Cast: Riya Sen, Kiran Kumar, Rati Agnihot... Director: Manish Goel
Hum Phirr Mileinge is yet another film that has its title modified for numerological reasons, with a hope that an extra 'r' and 'i' can rake in the moolah at the box-office. Well, not even the best numerologist could have saved this disaster directed by Manish Goel.
Over the years, having been subjected to watching most of the crap, that B and C grade Bollywood films dish out week after week, I have actually started enjoying them. Deshdrohi for example was one of the funniest movies I have seen in my life; you can call it unintentional funny.
Hum Phirr Mileinge is one such film that could make a Bollywood fan laugh-out-loud at some of the sequences; it's that weird and stupid. The very first scene, which by the way is meant to make you laugh, has a woman looking at herself in the mirror, asking her husband how she's looking. To which, the man ridicules her to tears. You got to see it to believe it!
On a serious note, the film is just a mixture of many classics from the past, with new actors and a director, who doesn't deserve to be called one.
Poor direction, cheesy dialogues, confused script, horrible performances, disastrous make-up... Put everything together and we have Hum Phirr Mileinge. The music too is average.
Sarvar Ahuja, a decent actor, is terribly letdown by the script. An extra K for KKhushi doesn't seem to have helped, poor performance. Rati Agnihotri is good. The rest are fine. Riya Sen has a special appearance, which is great; a full-fledged role would have made this film a bigger torture.
To sum up, watch Hum Phirr Mileinge on DVD just to see how stupid a film can be! What were the makers thinking??

Paying Guests –Bollywood Movie Review

Publicity Designer: P9 Designs
Story Writer: Paritosh Painter
Director: Paritosh Painter
Producer: Raju Farooqui
A madcap caper crammed with childish gags by men in drag, Paying Guests is a film full of humour that is crass, and leaves you with a sore pain in the …err…seat.
So, here’s a shot at comedy by a man who’s directed a number of plays. Paritosh Painter apparently adapts a successful play into a ‘comedy’ about four guys going out of their way, and gender, to get an accommodation as paying guests.
Shreyas Talpade , Ashish Choudhary and Javed Jaffrey are three friends in Pattaya (Thailand) who incidentally lose their jobs on the same day. Even before the three begin to pull themselves out of the uninvited misery, arrives Vatsal Seth , an uninvited cousin from India to find a job in Thailand.
To drown their sorrow the friends have a drink too much and are kicked out of their house as well by the grumpy landlord ( Asrani ).
Homeless and jobless, they eventually see the hope of getting a new accommodation with a landlord ( Johnny Lever ) who wants only married couples as paying guests.
You don’t need to be a Kurosawa to figure out what happens next. Two of the four friends decide to dress up as women.
While men dressed up as women frustrate you with their over-the-top antics, the real women ( Neha Dhupia , Celina Jaitley , Sayali Bhagat and Riya Sen ) have roles shorter than their clothes. The script seems like a series of slapstick jokes strung together to camouflage the holes in the plot. The humour, which borders on mockery rather than wit, is too deliberate and forced at places. And the climax (in a theatre play) seems shamelessly inspired from the climax of Kundan Shah’s gem of a movie ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’.
Ashish Choudhary and Shreyas Talpade manage to carry the movie on their performances to some extent. Javed Jaffery and Johnny Lever are fuhad, to use a vernacular. Vatsal Seth doesn’t look convincing cracking a joke while Asrani is wasted in a minute role.
In a small nutshell, the film’s a drag!
